A note from Andy

Now what?

I've spent a lot of my time answering questions to help people find the perfect cooker for their home. But after they've found the perfect cooker, a new question appears…
"What happens now?"
These cookers aren't something that arrive in a cardboard box two days later, so it's an obvious question, and one that I don't believe I've answered in an email before.
So I thought I'd walk you through what the process actually looks like, in case you ever find yourself in it.
Step 1: The order goes in
Once you've decided on your model, colour and specification (for this example, let's say you order an Everhot), then I place the order.
At this point, most people feel a mixture of excitement and relief; the decision has finally been made, and if you've got a kitchen project underway, it's now one less thing to think about.
Step 2: Your cooker gets built
This is the bit where patience comes in…
Everhots (and most of these cookers) aren't sitting in a warehouse waiting for someone to click "buy"...
It will be made specifically for you.
That usually takes around 12 weeks, although we can often work around kitchen projects if timings need to shift slightly.
Step 3: Delivery day arrives
This is the part people tend to worry about beforehand. And then afterwards they usually say:
"That was easier than I expected."
The specialist delivery team bring the cooker in, position it, connect it up, and make sure everything is working properly before they leave.
Because the cooker runs on standard plug sockets, it's usually a very straightforward installation.
Step 4: The first few days
There's one thing worth mentioning.
For the first few days, you may notice a slight smell coming from the cooker, but it's completely normal.
It's simply the factory oils burning off as the cooker settles in. Open a window, carry on as normal, and it soon disappears.
I mention it because if nobody tells you beforehand, it can catch you by surprise.
But if anything at all gives you any concern, just give me a call and I'd be happy to help.
Step 5: It becomes part of the house
This is the stage I like most. Most people don't have some grand "first cook" moment. The cooker just gradually becomes part of daily life.
Breakfast gets made on the hotplate. Something goes in the oven for dinner. A pan sits warming while everyone is doing something else.
And before long, you stop thinking of it as a new cooker.
It's just your cooker.
That's usually when you know you've made the right choice.
No matter what point of the process you're at – whether you've just ordered, you're waiting for delivery, or you're still deciding on which cooker is right for you – if you've got questions, that's what I'm here for. Just give me a shout.
