Why people have been going bigger

I had a catch-up with my Lacanche rep last week.

We were talking through recent orders, what customers are asking for, what’s changing…

And she mentioned something she’s seeing right across the country at the moment:

People are going bigger with their Lacanche cookers.

And the funny thing is, I’d noticed the same thing here.

In fact, the last three Lacanche orders I’ve placed have all been what I’d call “biggies”.

A Citeaux at just over 1.5 metres wide.

Then a Chalonnais.

Then a Chemin.

Now, I don’t think it’s simply that people suddenly want the biggest cooker possible.

I think it’s more to do with how people use their kitchens now…

Kitchens have become more open, more social, more central to the house. And once someone starts planning around that, they often realise they actually would use the extra space.

And with Lacanche in particular, there’s another big attraction…

You can fully customise them.

That’s usually the dangerous moment! Because once someone realises they can choose the hob layout, the ovens, the trim, the colour, the whole thing – they start building the cooker around how they actually cook.

And I think that’s often what nudges them into choosing something slightly larger.

I’ve seen plenty of customers arrive convinced they wanted something fairly modest, only to slowly realise they’d outgrow it within a few years.

That’s why these conversations are useful to have in person.

You can stand in front of the cookers, open the ovens, look at the space properly, and work out what feels right for your kitchen.

Although if you’re curious and want to see what’s possible with Lacanche right now, the online cooker builder is the place to start.

And when you’re ready to see it all properly, just come and find me.
