Doesn't that sound terrible?
36 years in the range cooker world… and I barely ever get repeat customers.
But that’s kind of the point.
These cookers – the Everhots, Lacanches, Rayburns, ESSE & Heritage – they’re really not made to be replaced, just maintained.
They’re made to last. So once someone’s got one, that’s usually it. Job done.
Except it’s not always the last I hear from them…
Now that I’ve been doing this for a while (OK, more than a while – I’ve been running the showroom in Princes Risborough for over 20 years now!), I’ve started to notice something lovely…
The sons, daughters, and even sometimes grandchildren of past customers are starting to walk through the door.
Sometimes they tell me I sold one to their parents. Or it would’ve been my dad who sold it to them…
And they always remember the cooker they grew up with.
One funny thing I heard recently:
I had a customer tell me her daughter had gone off to uni and had to ring home to ask how to turn on the cooker – she’d only known a cast iron range cooker her whole life; the kind that’s always warm and ready to go.
Cookers like these become part of the family.
So, if you’re thinking about buying a range cooker – one that will still be going when your kids leave home and want to get their own – I’d be happy to help.
No pressure, no pitch – just honest advice based on decades around range cookers.
And whatever you choose…
…know that they’re all built to last.
If you have any questions about any range cooker, reply to this email and let me know. Or pop down to the showroom any time and I’d be happy to help with anything I can.
Warm regards,
Andy
P.S. If you grew up with a proper range cooker, you’ll know what I mean. And if you didn’t – now’s your chance to start the tradition.
