Some advice (and it might sound controversial)

A lovely couple came into the showroom the other week and within ten minutes, it became clear we weren't talking about cookers anymore...

No, the real issue was colour. She was for Dusky Pink. He was dead-set on Teal. I offered tea (standard protocol when negotiations get heated) and gave them all the samples and support I could. But you learn pretty quickly: never take sides when it comes to cooker colours!

In the end, they surprised themselves – and me – by choosing Graphite. Neither had even considered it when they walked in.

That’s the funny thing about picking a cooker colour… You can read every brochure, watch every YouTube review, but until you see the enamel in real light and can hold it against a tile or cabinet sample, it’s all a bit abstract.

And it does matter. These aren’t cookers you’ll be swapping out in a couple of years. They’re built to last decades. They’ll outlive trends, paint colours, and maybe even the kitchen in which they’re fitted.

So here’s the advice I give (and it might sound controversial to some): If you’re refurbishing your kitchen, choose the cooker first. The colour, the size, the style. All of it. Then build the kitchen around it. Not the other way round.

Because the cooker is going to be the place you gather around, the thing you warm your hands against, and the thing that everyone comments on. It deserves to take centre stage, not blend in with a bank of cream units.

At least, that’s my opinion.

We’ve got every enamel swatch in the showroom, and a good few models on display so you can get a proper feel for things… So, if you’re at that stage where everything’s picked except the colour, or you’re only just starting to figure out what would suit your space, pop in for a chat. It’s always easier in person. No pressure. No sales pitch. Just time, space, and as many cups of tea as it takes to find the right one.

Warm regards,
Andy

P.S. People often ask what I’d choose, but that’s not the point. What matters is what you want to see in your kitchen every day. I’ll just help you get there without any regrets.
