Every year, I go to the Bucks County Show. And every year, I always feel honoured by the number of people who recognise me.
But one customer has stuck in my mind from last year's event…
A lady wandered over to our trailer, and smiling, she asked:
“Do you remember me? You sold me my Everhot… 12 years ago.”
Now, one “problem” I tend to have is that once a customer has their new cooker, I don't often hear from them again. Although that usually means nothing has gone wrong, so I suppose it's not the worst problem to have. But it's nice to hear how people are getting on with their new cookers.
Anyway, this lady DID have a problem… of sorts.
She admitted she'd been feeling a bit sheepish; in those 12 years, she said she'd never had her cooker serviced or looked at by an engineer.
So I asked her the obvious question:
“Well, has anything gone wrong with it?”
She shook her head and said she'd never had a problem.
And that's the beauty of these range cookers. They're not like a new car that, after a few years, needs MOTs and regular servicing to maintain. They're built to last.
Look after them and they'll look after you.
Moments like that are why I always look forward to the Bucks Show…
It's not just about cookers and brochures – I love meeting new people, seeing past customers, and hearing how their cookers are still going strong after a decade or more.
So if you're heading along this year, please do come and say hello.
It's on Thursday 28th August, and I'll be there with the Everhot trailer, fully stocked with range cookers, the compact Everhot Stove, and the new Everhot Heater (which always gets a few “oohs” and “aahs”).
And if we've spoken before – or you've already got your cooker at home – I'd especially love to hear how things are going.
I'm not affiliated with them, but you can book your tickets here. If the weather holds, it should be another cracking day out!
Warm regards,
Andy
P.S. You'll be able to find me in my usual spot, near the main ring.
